CE Courses for California Certified Nursing Assistants

CareerSmart® Learning is an approved provider of CNA and online Continuing Education by the California Department of Public Health.

Courses listed in the online course catalog below are approved for Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) in the State of California. CNAs in California must complete a total of 48 hours of In-Service Training/Continuing Education (CEs) within their two-year certification period. A minimum of 12 of the 48 hours must be completed in each year of the two-year certification period. A maximum of 24 of the 48 hours may be obtained through an approved online training program.

Per California Department of Public Health regulations, a time/pause mechanism must be incorporated into this online program. Navigation within courses is restricted in that each slide must be viewed in its entirety before advancing to the next slide. Learners must view each slide and click the next button to advance in each course.

To complete your CA CNA license renewal, submit a completed Renewal Application (CDPH 283C) along with a CE Documentation Form (CDPH 283A). Additionally, certificates of completion for each course completed must be submitted with your application. CareerSmart’s provider NAC# will be found on course certificates of completion. Applications may be submitted by mail or through California Department of Public Health (CDPH)’s electronic application submission portal.
